Auckland Survival Kit

We have tried to give you heaps of info on support available for whatever reason in Auckland, New Zealand. This includes a whole range of services from the child and adolescent mental health services, counselling services and drop-in centres to information based projects and websites. Lots of these resources are not just for people in Auckland though and provide good information for anybody.

Mental Health
There are four Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Auckland which are free to young people and families who are considered in need of assessment, treatment and therapy to help with a mental health problem. The process of being referred involves firstly going to someone like a GP or School Guidance Counsellor who will make the decision with you about whether the referral is the right one.

If you want more information about the services these centres provide phone contact details are below:

Central Auckland
The Kari Centre
09 6234646

West Auckland to Helensville

South Auckland

We think it is important first and foremost to share the thing on your mind with someone you can trust who may be able to help you find more help if you need it. This person may be whanau/family, a teacher or school counsellor, a community or church leader or your family doctor, but it is important to talk to someone.

You can also phone YOUTHLINE where someone will be available to offer support and advice.
