When someone
we care about hits hard times it can be tricky to know
what to do for the best. Headspace.org.nz tries to provide
you with information about a range of difficulties a young
person may be experiencing. We believe that the first
step for a young person in getting help is talking to
someone. For many young people this will be a family/whanau
member, or close friend, and often a school teacher or
counsellor and in some cases a family doctor.
In Auckland, and in New Zealand generally, there are lots
of organisations set up to support people who can provide
information and resources to a person and/or their family/whanau.
Some of these are on this page and can be used to point
someone in the direction of good information or for family
members to find out more themselves:
